USER GUIDE · TUGESTIÓN BETATEST

Your first test,
step by step.

List your app, find partners and share real testing. Here is each step and where to do it.

Two people, two accounts

Your own app appears in “My apps”. Other people’s apps that you test appear in “My tests”. You cannot join your own app as a tester using the same account.

01

Create and verify your account

  1. Select “Join free”, enter your name, email and a password of at least 12 characters, and accept the terms.
  2. Open the verification email and confirm the link. If missing, check spam and request another from your dashboard.
  3. Wait for an administrator to approve your profile. Check both email and profile status in “Dashboard”.
  4. You do not need to join a platform group. Each application provides its own group, if used, and access instructions.

02

List your app

  1. Prepare your test in Play Console. If you already have a Google group, keep it: authorise it for your test and copy its link into the listing. You do not need to change groups or add a platform group.
  2. Under “My apps”, select “New app”. Complete the name, Android package, and Spanish and English descriptions and test instructions.
  3. Copy both test links: web opt-in and Android / Google Play. Include the privacy policy, languages, countries, duration and places. The Google group is optional. If you do not use one, explain access in the instructions; do not publish tester emails or personal data.
  4. Save the listing and wait for administrator approval. Pending listings do not appear in the public catalogue. Editing resubmits them for review.
  5. Once approved and active, share its public listing. See participants under “My apps → View testers & feedback”.

03

Join a test in “My tests”

  1. Find another developer’s application under “Explore apps” and open its listing.
  2. If the listing includes a group, join that group with the Google account you use in Play. Otherwise, follow the developer’s instructions to obtain access. Then open the web link to opt in and the Android link to install.
  3. Read instructions and risks. On the listing, accept the terms and select “Register participation”.
  4. The app appears under “My tests”. Select “Open tracker” to log activity or send feedback.

You can join voluntarily without offering an app in return. Registering here does not install the app or automatically confirm Google Play opt-in.

04

I test yours, you test mine

  1. You need an approved active app of your own. Open another developer’s app listing.
  2. Under “The app I offer”, choose your app, accept the terms and select “Propose exchange”.
  3. The proposal appears under “Exchanges” for both accounts. The recipient can accept or decline.
  4. Acceptance creates two participations: each person sees the other’s app under “My tests”. Each must separately opt in and install through Google Play.
  5. Each person logs their own activity and feedback. Cancelling the agreement or leaving a test stops the linked active participations.

If you already participate in that app, open the existing tracker; duplicate participations are not created.

05

Log real tests and share results

  1. Under “My tests → Open tracker”, describe the feature tested and the result. Confirm you personally performed the test.
  2. One activity entry per UTC day is allowed. Do not invent entries on days you did not test.
  3. Under “Private feedback”, send a bug, improvement or comment. For bugs, include version, device, steps and expected result. The developer can reply there.
  4. Once the period has elapsed and activity has been logged, you can mark it completed. The developer can acknowledge the contribution.
Listing age, elapsed participation days and days with activity are different counters. None certifies that Google Play counted the tester or approved publication.

If options are missing

“Register participation” is missing.

Check you are signed in, email and profile are approved, and the campaign is active. The button is hidden for your own app. If you already participate, you will see “Open my tracker”.

“My tests” is empty.

Creating an app does not create a participation. Join another app from its listing or accept an exchange. If all apps are yours, another developer or tester needs to join.

There are no apps I can offer.

The offered app must belong to you and be approved and active. Pending, rejected, paused or closed apps cannot be offered.

“Exchanges” is empty.

This section shows sent and received proposals. To start one, open another developer’s app in the catalogue and select “Propose exchange”.

My app stays pending.

Your listing is waiting for administrator review. Once approved, it can appear in the catalogue. Editing an approved listing resubmits it for review.

I joined through Google Play, but it is not in my dashboard.

Google Play and BetaTest do not synchronise automatically. You must also register participation from the BetaTest listing.
